Candidasa is a good place to escape the bustle of Kuta. Accommodations are good and relatively cheap, so does the food. There are no beach vendors and aggressive hawkers. Although the town has tripled in size in recent years, the surrounding area is still serene and very quiet. Everything is oriented along the main street that parallels the beach.
Candidasa beach is shattered by quays protruding into the water, intended to stop the erosion caused from years of coral blasting. These structures make it impossible to walk more than 50 meters on the beach, hence a truly lovely landscape. The beach can only be seen at low tide.
